Monica Lewinsky was not America's only intern - what do the rest do?

Article Abstract:

The young people who work as interns, or worker trainees, in the US frequently encounter difficult situations. Between 50% and 60% of them work for no payment, and they often find that they are very vulnerable. Female interns may face sexual advances from older male superiors, while both male and female interns may be exploited. The only real experience interns often gain is in office power disparities. It is now time to review the entire internship programme in the US, even though it continues to attract large numbers of young people.

Monica's put on weight. Now that really is unacceptable...

Article Abstract:

Monica Lewinsky continues to attract extensive media coverage. Indeed, journalists devote a great deal of time to establishing where she goes and who her associates are. Particular attention has been given to the fact that she has put on weight. This is a significant issue for respectable middle class Americans, who are appalled at both her sexual willingness and her love of comfort food. She has now become the subject of universal mockery, for both talking too much and eating too much.
