Michael Portillo, who is seeking to lead the UK Conservative party, will have to tackle the party's ecumenists and fantasists. The fantasists seem themselves as protecting the legacy of former leader Margaret Thatcher, while the ecumenists hope that the party can overcome all its divisions.

Apathy among voters may cause problems for UK Conservative party leader William Hague. If apathy were to negatively affect the outcome of the general election for the Conservatives, Hague may lose the leadership of the party.
