New labours for Chris Powell

Article Abstract:

Advertising agency BMP DDB Needham Chmn Chris Powell feels that it was appropriate for him to step down as Chief Executive because he was undertaking a wide range of work outside the agency. He emphasizes that his work in the public sector, including sitting on a local arts council in west London, England, is motivated by personal satisfaction, rather than altruism. He believes that one of the attractions of advertising is that it allows you to gain an insight into many different problems and to become involved in other people's business.

Pure genius of the caring hitman

Article Abstract:

Advertising is about making immediate emotional impact, according to Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper Creative Director Mark Wnek. The most effective advertisements are those which do not burden the audience with too many facts and figures and do not try too obviously to sell the product concerned. He has a very short concentration span, but this is actually an advantage in advertising, where a message has to be conveyed extremely quickly.
