Nice work (if you can create it)

Article Abstract:

Student Pages, a services directory with money-off vouchers for students, was initially merely a money-making venture, according to Andrew Needham, who set it up with Jan Levy and some friends at university in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1989. There are now 26 city editions of Student Pages, and the venture has become Student Marketing, a student-specific marketing concern. It was purchased by Hobsons Publishing in Sep 1997. Student business ventures can often be regarded negatively, according to Needham, and he wanted to prove to sceptics that he could make Student Pages a success.

A very private obsession

Article Abstract:

Experiences of coping with an obsessive compulsive disorder, in this case hand-washing, are described. Problems with communicating the extent of the disorder to others are discussed, and the tactics used to hide the condition from others are analyzed. The utter helplessness sufferers of an obsessive compulsive disorder feel sometimes is described, and the way in which a disorder of this kind can cause the sufferer to miss out on ordinary life is discussed.

What a nice man - what a very nice man

Article Abstract:

The Design Museum in London, UK, is currently holding a tribute exhibition of the works of designer Paul Smith. He is highly respected, and attracts almost no criticism at all. He comes from a modest background, but has worked very hard and now has an international presence, owning 146 shops in Japan. He has a strong air of self-deprecation, almost as if he cannot believe his own success.
