Called to the bar

Article Abstract:

There are a growing number of opportunities for UK graduates in the licensed retail trade. Many of the leading breweries now run graduate schemes in areas such as finance and marketing, and the financial incentives can be very attractive. Some graduates choose to go straight into pub retailing, beginning as an assistant manager and later managing their own outlet. Graduates are regarded as having the skills which the licensed retail trade needs to allow it to adjust to a changing business environment.
