Reflection on a Miller's tale

Article Abstract:

Neuropsychologist and stage director Jonathan Miller admits that he does seem to move frequently between projects, but hopes that there is a point to his activity. His interest in psychology has been partly responsible for his interest in art. He is particularly interested in body language and its representation in art. He is attracted to the intellectual problem of the shift from the appearance of things to the representation of the appearance of things. He is staging an exhibition, 'Jonathan Miller on Reflection,' at the National Gallery in London, England.

Fired in the kiln of fatherhood

Article Abstract:

Claude Picasso feels that his character is like that of Pablo Picasso, his father, in some ways. He feels that his father's personality really comes across in his works in clay, which show considerable wit and humour. He has always felt that his father's work in clay is a significant element of his artistic life, even though it has generally not been regarded so highly as his work as a sculptor and painter. Picasso's work in clay is currently being exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, England.

Building on tradition

Article Abstract:

Experimentation is vital if life is not to become dull, according to sculptor Sir Anthony Caro. He still has a restless spirit, and is keen to go against convention. He is both excited and nervous about his show at the National Gallery in London, England, the first ever show of contemporary sculpture at that venue. He has always been drawn to Picasso, and is greatly inspired by the symbiotic relationship between Picasso as sculptor and Picasso as artist.
