Not just a great brain

Article Abstract:

Physicist Stephen Hawking has gained widespread public popularity, even though his theories are really only understood by a few fellow physicists. This is because people are fascinated by the fact that he has a brilliant mind trapped within a body which has been crippled by Motor Neurone Disease. His brain seemed to have gone beyond his body, making him almost into a higher being. He began to be seen in a different light when he left his wife after 25 years of marriage, making him appear more human and fallible.

What is there left to discover?

Article Abstract:

Humans will not be able to travel faster than light, unless a completely new form of physics is developed, and matter transportation is also a most unlikely development. Space travel is likely to become more common, at least for people who are healthy enough to withstand it, and it is possible that Mars will one day be converted into a habitable planet. Other feasible scientific developments will include the development of cheap, clean nuclear power.

The crazy world of Stephen Hawking

Article Abstract:

Physicist Stephen Hawking has attracted a great deal of attention from ordinary people, but is not particularly highly rated by his fellow physicists. Some observers believe that he would not have become well known if it had not been for his disability, caused by motor neurone disease.
