On the road to Utopia?

Article Abstract:

Hirst Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University Francis Fukuyama believes that the reasons for the end of history are economic and political. His new book, 'The Great Disruption,' focuses on social disruptions to family and community following from man's domination of nature through technology. He argues that the expansion of technological complexity and the forms of knowledge required to manage it mean that a high level of decentralization in economic decision-making is almost inevitable.
