Article Abstract:

Sharad Patel plans that the glass and steel pavilion designed by Nicholas Grimshaw for Expo 92 in Seville, Spain, will become the centrepiece of his Asia Centre. The pavilion, which Patel purchased for 750,000 pounds sterling, was dismantled shortly after the exhibition, and is currently housed in containers. It is still uncertain whether it will be possible to use the site selected in Neasden, London, England, for the Asia Centre. It is hoped that facilities there will include studios for Patel's company, hotels and leisure centres and wedding halls.

It's a jungle down here

Article Abstract:

Architect Rick Mather has won the competition to develop a master plan for the South Bank in London, England, the largest arts complex in Europe. The South Bank covers almost 12 ha of central London, and includes the Festival Hall, the National Theatre, the Hayward Gallery, elevated walkways, public parks and riverside walks. A number of Mather's plans for the area have attracted controversy. This is particularly the case with his proposals to construct the new National Film Centre on the Jubilee Gardens site.

What will Jeffrey Archer say?

Article Abstract:

An exhibition is currently being held in the Oxo Tower Gallery in London, England, of seven locations for the future headquarters building for the Mayor of London. This exhibition is being staged alongside an exhibition of canvases from six architects who were asked to produce ideas for a building for the Greater London Authority. The home for the new Mayor and Assembly must create a strong civic identity. The assembly building must be easily accessible and must unite all parts of London, England.
