Our great betrayal of Africa

Article Abstract:

Africa has been negatively affected by long-standing rivalry between France and the UK. They rushed to take over African countries in the late 19th century, and then exploited these countries for their own gain, usually in isolation from each other. No efforts were made to encourage regional development or communication across the boundaries between Anglophone and Francophone countries. This approach has been particularly damaging in sub-Saharan West Africa, where it has proved impossible to establish an effective regional economic grouping.

Pensioners will also receive additional assistance to produce a risk-free income from a new National Savings pensioners' bond.
