Article Abstract:

The village of Malina Mala, Macedonia, has been swamped with ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo, Yugoslavia, which is only a short distance away. Refugees have take every available space in the village, and local people can offer no more shelter. The Serb army has been forcing ethnic Albanians to leave Kosovo by this route, rather than using the official border crossings, where refugee camps have been established and medical care and other assistance is available. The refugees' stories highlight the systematic nature of the Serb action against them.

Article Abstract:

Ethnic Albanians from Kosovo, Yugoslavia, living in a refugee camp in Macedonia have launched vicious attacks against gypsies, whom they regard as having collaborated with the Serbs in killing Albanians in Kosovo and looting their homes. The savagery of these attacks can be seen as a warning of what may happen to both Serbs and gypsies when the ethnic Albanians are able to return to Kosovo. Aid workers are now struggling to protect the gypsies.
