The afterlife of Ron Davies

Article Abstract:

Former Secretary of State for Wales Ron Davies saw his political career collapse after being mugged by a stranger with whom he had conversed on Clapham Common, London, England. This incident has also had a very negative impact on his private life, causing his marriage to break up. Most Britons dismissed the incident as minor, but it had a significant impact in Wales, where Davies was very influential. He claims that the incident was an expression of a compulsion to put himself in dangerous situations. This compulsion was fostered by the stress of work.

When the truth is too painful to believe

Article Abstract:

Serbs in the UK have been protesting strongly against the UK's involvement in Nato air strikes against Yugoslavia. Nato's military action has united Serbs in the UK who previously had mixed views about President Slobodan Milosevic. They feel that it is now appropriate to work together, particularly in protecting relatives still in Yugoslavia. They all believe that Nato's action, rather than that of the Serbs, is responsible for the suffering of the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia.

A very high-risk strategy indeed

Article Abstract:

There continues to be a great deal of speculation about the private life of former Welsh Secretary Ron Davies. He was forced to resign after being robbed by strangers he met in a well-known gay pick-up area on Clapham Common in London, England, and has now confessed that he is bisexual. He has stated that he is having psychiatric treatment for a compulsive disorder which prompts him to seek 'high-risk' situations. Some observers feel that he is still unable to face up to sexuality.
