Parity with the dollar is no disaster for the euro

Article Abstract:

Most financial market analysts believe that a fall in the euro to below the $1 level would have only symbolic importance. They do not anticipate that such a decline would reduce political support for the euro or cause instability in the financial markets. Many economists believe that the euro's weakness will in any case prove self-correcting. Furthermore, the rise in euro bond yields should encourage investors to return to the euro.
