Partners in arms - and in love

Article Abstract:

There have been rumours for some time that South African president Nelson Mandela, who has now divorced Winnie, his second wife, has formed a romantic attachment with Graca Michel, wife of Samora Machel, the late president of Mozambique. This relationship has now been made public, but there are no marriage plans. Both are legendary figures in Africa, having struggled separately against the white minority government in South Africa. Their relationship will be almost unanimously welcomed in South Africa.

However, they are also very glad to be home, even though there is extensive devastation in Kosovo.

No place to call home

Article Abstract:

Homeless families who are forced to live in temporary accommodation must often endure very difficult conditions. Large families must live in only one or two rooms, and must often share facilities such as bathrooms and kitchens with other families. This can cause tension within the family, especially if children have nowhere to play. These families must often wait many years before receiving more suitable accommodation.
