Partners in crime

Article Abstract:

It is unusual for a secretary or other employee to betray a superior who has committed a crime. Indeed, there have been a number of high profile cases in which it later came to light that a secretary took considerable personal risks to cover up a crime committed by a superior. The UK's Institute of Management has expressed concern about the possibility of secretaries and other employees being placed under strong pressure to compromise themselves. It points out that loyalty should flow in both directions, and that commercial confidentiality should not be respected to the point of breaking the law.

Truth and lives

Article Abstract:

Journalists in Albania have long been under considerable pressure from the government, but this situation has become considerably worse recently. Some journalists have been beaten up by government officials, and they are constantly spied upon by secret police informers. Many are now seeking to leave the country. There are also problems for foreign journalists, who are exposing themselves to danger by crossing front lines at a time of great tension.
