Price war at the pharmacy

Article Abstract:

The UK government is seeking to reduce expenditure on drugs by the National Health Service (NHS) by making changes to the Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme. This will involve allowing Health Secretary Frank Dobson to restrict the profits of pharmaceutical manufacturers on products sold to the NHS. The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry is expressing opposition to this development, claiming that the pharmaceutical industry has been very successful and does not require further regulation. It warns that pharmaceutical companies could be forced to move abroad.
