UK politicians who mention racism are treated contemptuously, but in other western European countries racist movements are more respectable. However, it does not have a large part on the political agenda. Long term unemployment is one of the reasons for young people taking up extremist politics. Racist hooligans are well-organised internationally and communicate electronically. There were 54 racist murders in the EC in 1992. Neo-Nazi groups have increased in Germany since unification.

'Robin Hood' army rattles Iran

Article Abstract:

The ultra-nationalist Babak Khoramdin Organisation (BKO) began to take responsibility for attacks against the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Tehran in the summer of 1992. The People's Mujahedin organisation claims that the BKO does not exist, but it gave an interview to the Independent in Apr 1993. Its description of its republican aims and structure showed that it has infiltrated the armed forces and intelligence services. Many members are veterans of the Iran-Iraq war.
