Rivals circle helicopter contract

Article Abstract:

GEC and British Aerospace are already rivals to purchase VSEL, and will now also compete strongly, along with Westland, to supply the British Army's attack helicopter for the 21st century. All three companies are preparing to gain the support of the ministry of defence as a recommendation is put forward to the Cabinet. The main contenders are thought to be The AH-64 Apache, made by McDonnell Douglas and Westland, and the Cobra Venom, built by GEC.

Rover powers from strength to strength

Article Abstract:

It has created 3,000 jobs over the last two years, and has reach a pay agreement with unions. BMW has taken a cautious approach, not making any strategic decisions at this early stage.
