Rough diamond on a choppy Med

Article Abstract:

The French port city of Marseilles has a long history and a great deal of charm, especially in the Old Port area. It is a compact place, but areas are very clearly defined. Some parts of it have the appearance of a village, with self-contained communities living in harmony with the activities of a large city. It has played an important role in art history in France, but has not fallen into the trap of offering cheap tourist souvenirs.

The real stars of '98? What they say we want is Michael, Celine and Garth

Article Abstract:

The pop music tastes of ordinary Britons are generally not reflected on Radio 1 or in the annual Brit Awards. Pop music tastes are much more closely mirrored by niche music radio stations and by specialist retailers. The UK also has a flourishing music press catering to a wide range of specialist interests. UK pop music is very diverse, and there are many problems associated with ensuring that all pop music tastes are represented.

Nice 'n' cheesy does it

Article Abstract:

There have been easy listening clubs in London, UK, for the past three years, and easy listening music is enjoying a revival in popularity. It is now starting to be taken more seriously, and a new album of easy listening music, 'The Sound Gallery,' has even been produced. New respect is developing for the musicianship displayed during the period 1968-1976, when easy listening music was at the peak of its popularity.
