Seni Pramoj

Article Abstract:

Lawyer Seni Pramoj was one of the many great-grandsons of the second king in the current Thai dynasty. He was educated in the UK, and studied law at Oxford University. He gradually became involved in politics, and during the second world war became the symbol of Thai resistance to Japan. He became titular head of the Free Thai movement, and was invited to become the country's first post-war prime minister. He was eventually prime minister of Thailand four times, but in each case only for a very short time.

Professor Myres McDougal

Article Abstract:

International lawyer, legal philosopher and educationalist Myres McDougal began his legal writing in the field of property law, but then turned to international law, particularly jurisprudence, treaty law, the law of the seas, legal education, space law, the use of force and human rights. He was a very gifted teacher whose original ideas very extremely influential in shaping thinking on international law. He was Sterling Professor of International Law at Yale Law School between 1958 and 1975.

Telford Taylor

Article Abstract:

Lawyer Telford Taylor studied at Harvard Law School and then entered government service in 1933. He became Colonel in the Office of Strategic Services during the second world war, and acted as liaison between US and British intelligence. He was asked to serve as a US war crimes prosecutor in Germany, and gained considerable respect for his work at the International Trial in 1945. During the last third of his career, he wrote about and taught the laws of war at Columbia Law School.
