Serbia's generals prepare to face the final shame

Article Abstract:

The high command of the Yugoslav army is to meet General Mike Jackson from Britain to discuss the terms of the withdrawal by Yugoslavia from Kosovo, Yugoslavia. The British general is acting for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato). There is concern about the devastation that retreating troops could leave behind. There is also concern about the Serbian population of Kosovo, which may leave with the army instead of staying to see ethnic Albanians return.

Archer will lose right to sit in the Lords

Article Abstract:

The second phase of the UK government's reform of the House of Lords is set to include a ban on peers remaining in the Lords after being found guilty of a serious offence. This would mean that Jeffrey Archer, who has been imprisoned, would be unable to take his seat when he is released.

State aid for political parties may now be on the cards

Article Abstract:

UK Labour party officials want ministers to consider state funding for political parties if the party is re-elected. However, ministers are concerned that voters would react negatively to parties receiving large amounts of state funding.
