Shhh, don't tell ... Tony Blair is a socialist
Article Abstract:
There is strong evidence that UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is a socialist, even though he is trying hard to present a government which has moved away from dogmatic government models of the past. The 1998 Budget was basically redistributive, and additional money has been made available for education, healthcare and tackling unemployment. The government has been accused of trying to gain support from the middle classes, but some of its social measures would not be approved by this population group, including making it easier for unmarried and gay couples to settle in the UK.

There's a difference between meddling and muddling
Article Abstract:
It is possible to argue that there are negative elements to UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's involvement in industry. He has been very keen to gain the support of business since he became Labour party leader in 1994, and has generally had a positive response. However, since he became Prime Minister his interest in industry has expanded to the point where he seems to want to shape it, rather than just encourage it. Close links between politicians and industry bring the risk of influence-buying.

Mr Blair has to stop footling about on the decisive issue of our time
Article Abstract:
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair must now take a more decisive approach to managing the issue of European monetary union membership. He would go down in history as a great leader if he were to succeed in making the UK a leading European country by bringing it into the euro system.
