Shoppers cut down in hail of nails and broken glass

Article Abstract:

A nail bomb exploded in a busy street market in Brixton, London, England, in the early evening of Apr 17, 1999. Flying debris, mainly nails and broken glass, caused extensive injuries, and 14 victims remain in hospital. Of these, four are in a serious condition. Police believe that the bomb was intended to cause injuries to people rather than to damage property. Among the victims was a 23-month-old boy, who has had surgery to remove a nail that penetrated 2 cm into his brain.

Will there be sighs of relief that Libya is getting all the blame?

Article Abstract:

Various theories about who was responsible for the bombing of a Pan Am jet over Lockerbie, Scotland, in Dec 1988 are discussed. Some observers believe that the attack was in retaliation for the shooting of Iran Air flight 655 in Jul 1988 by the cruiser USS Vincennes.
