Showtime!

Article Abstract:

There is a very special atmosphere at the annual Chelsea Flower Show, which has been held since 1913 in the gardens of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London, England. It seems particularly exciting that rich, exotic gardens with a profusion of colour and fragrance are created very rapidly in the middle of a busy city. The Royal Horticultural Society, which stages the show, is very concerned to educate the public, and for this reason the event features many educational displays.

Back off, bunny!

Article Abstract:

Growing vegetables can be very rewarding, especially when it is time to harvest them. Sweetcorn grow upwards, and therefore do not take up much space. They need to be planted in blocks to ensure proper pollination. Courgettes and cucumbers can be grown from seed sown individually in 3-in pots at the end of Apr. It is important to avoid over-watering and to be aware that cucumbers need rich soil. Other attractive vegetables include beetroot, carrots and parsnips.

Sex on a stalk

Article Abstract:

There are many people across the world who are strongly attracted to the tulip. The tulip has fascinated people for many generations, and at certain times has been in such great demand that the price of tulip bulbs has risen extremely high. It is possible to argue that the most beautiful tulips are English florists' tulips, which were mainly bred by 19th century enthusiasts who focused on the culture of a specific flower.
