Article Abstract:

Deaths of Britons abroad have become more common as more British tourists travel to exotic locations. There was a clear-up rate of 91% for manslaughter and murder cases in the United Kingdom within 12 months, in 1997, but this high success rate is not seen in a number of tourist destinations where police resources may be scarce. British citizens may be targets for some criminal organizations due to their passports being attractive. Tourists may not realise that little may be done if they are victims of attacks and murder.

Constable's England crumbles under feet of heritage tourists

Article Abstract:

The region on the border between the counties of Essex and Suffolk, England, known as 'Constable Country' is one of many in the UK which is being extensively damaged by mass tourism. The economy of the UK is becoming heavily reliant on tourism, which generates 36 billion pounds sterling a year, but the most popular tourist sites are coming under great pressure. Many rural areas are becoming congested as more people take day trips, while historic cities are seeing a sharp rise in the ratio of visitors to residents.

The colour of mountains

Article Abstract:

It is particularly interesting to visit the Lake District in autumn, when sunny weather can bring out beautiful colours in the scenery. However, it can also rain heavily at this time of year. The Lake District National Park attracts around 20 million day-visits each year, but the Lake District is actually very uncrowded away from the main tourist sites. Areas of particular interest include Gimmer Crag, which offers attractions for both climbers and artists.
