Sir's been suspended. What's going on?

Article Abstract:

In 1992 Highbury Grove School, London headmaster Peter Searl was suspended after school inspectors found 30% of lessons unsatisfactory and eight pupils were expelled. Mr Searl is popular with the pupils. Standards are high and exam results are better than 585 other schools in government statistics. Parents are happy with the school and teachers feel the HMI report is being used unreasonably. Former headmaster Rhodes Boyson made the school famous in 1972 for treating working-class children like public school pupils.

Poptastic! Night out at the Brits

Article Abstract:

The UK pop music industry is currently in a very strong position, as reflected by plans to invest more than 1 million pounds sterling in staging the 1996 Brit Awards. Sales of records in the UK rose by more than 14% in 1995 from 1994 to 1.6 billion pounds sterling. This follows a time when the UK's share of the world pop music market had declined dramatically. In 1995, UK performers represented 24% of the world market and 17% of US album sales.
