Something Tricky this way comes

Article Abstract:

Hop hop singer Tricky's debut album, 'Maxinquaye,' combines hip hop with rock, and is likely to be well received. Tricky and singer Martina are to go on tour supporting PJ Harvey soon, and will perform almost all the album live. Like a number of other performers, Tricky comes from the clubbing and dubbing scene in Bristol, but denies that he has been influenced by groups such as Massive Attack. He believes that his background, on a council estate where racism was rife, has ensured that he mixes element of both black and white culture in his music.

'Barry may be the walrus of love. But Luther is the real thing

Article Abstract:

Soul singer Luther Vandross has become widely admired for the magical quality of his voice and for his ability to write high quality lyrics in a genre where cliche is extremely common. His music creates an impression of plenitude and narcissism, with his voice coming across as probing and alive. He has become a worldwide star in his own right, but has also become respected for his writing for Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and Dionne Warwick.

Soaraway son

Article Abstract:

Singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, son of the late and highly respected singer-songwriter Tim Buckley, has attracted a considerable following. His albums are rather mixed in quality, but his live performances are certainly as good as their reputation. He has a very strong physical presence, and takes on an appearance of other-worldliness as he performs. He loses himself completely in his music, and seems to be extremely vulnerable.
