Specialist garden centres

Article Abstract:

Sales through UK garden centres rose to an estimated 1 billion pounds sterling in 1995, not including sales through franchises and concessions. The largest sector of the market is growing stock, followed by enhancement features and sundries, garden buildings, garden tools, garden chemicals and garden furniture. Total spending on garden products is estimated to have reached 3 billion pounds sterling in 1995. The sector remains relatively strong, and is in a good position to benefit from any economic recovery which may take place.
