Sudan 'faces mutiny and revolt.' (Islamic fundamentalist government could collapse)

Article Abstract:

It is likely that there will be a mutiny among a large part of the Sudanese armed forces, followed by the overthrow of the Islamic fundamentalist government, according to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Sudan's main opposition force. NDA now plans to spark off a popular uprising in towns and cities across northern Sudan, and expects to receive military support for this move. The north has been particularly badly affected by war, price rises and human rights abuses.

Nigeria's junta keeps press on the run

Article Abstract:

A number of prominent journalists in Nigeria have received death threats, and they are now on the run from the authorities. The government is extremely sensitive to any perceived criticism, and newspapers are being forced to publish in secret locations, with reporters carefully keeping in the background. There is now a strong element of 'guerilla journalism' which the military regime has been unable to eliminate.
