Taken in by the Nato line

Article Abstract:

Some reporters who covered the conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, fell victim to moralizing. They presented the war as totally justified and the Serbs as totally wicked. Most of the journalists at Nato headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, were willing to place all their trust in Nato generals and air commadores, and failed to ask them searching questions. Many allowed themselves to be exploited for publicity purposes by Nato. They did not acknowledge that challenging authority is part of a journalist's job.

US media mirror distorts Middle East

Article Abstract:

US newspaper and television coverage of the Middle East has been strongly biased towards Israel. Journalists have chosen to overlook events that have portrayed Israel in a negative light, and have deliberately used language that reflects badly on Israel's enemies. It is possible to argue that this biased reporting has encouraged Americans to support US policies which may in the end completely destroy US prestige in the Middle East.
