Tesco's move to become the choice of young professionals puts it in the top slot

Article Abstract:

UK supermarket chain Tesco is seeking to reposition itself, moving away from its rather downmarket image. It is now looking to appeal to young professionals, and has been extremely successful with a range of initiatives. It is focusing on offering high levels of service and a wider range of choice, recognizing that the grocery market as a whole will not expand much further. It has established a presence in areas including financial services and health care, and has also adopted a firm stance on ethical retailing.
