The accidental terrorist

Article Abstract:

It is very important to support the underdogs in society, according to Francesca Mambro, who is accused of planting the bomb which killed 85 people in the railway station in Bologna, Italy, on Aug 02, 1980. She admits to having been involved in terrorist activity. Indeed, she was co-founder with Valerio Fioravanti, to whom she is now married, of the extreme-right organization 'Nuclei armati rivoluzionari.' However, she denies responsibility for the Bologna bomb attack. There are signs that she may now gradually be convincing people of her innocence.

On the fiddle in Rome

Article Abstract:

Delegates at the World Food Summit which is currently taking place in Rome, Italy, have shown little real understanding for the plight of the 800 million people in the world who are undernourished. They have given the impression of being wealthy and well-fed, and have spoken in vague, general terms of high political ideals, rather than of practical measures to help the hungry. Delegates have gone no further than mildly condemning inequality in food supplies.

Bruno Munari

Article Abstract:

Inventor, designer, artist and writer Bruno Munari was fascinated with the world around him from a very early age. He began in his mid-20s to explore the overlap between art, craft, science and technology, a task which he was to pursue for the rest of his life. He came to public attention when he exhibited his 'Useless Machines' in Milan, Italy, in 1932. He linked with Gillo Dorfles, Atanasio Soldati and Gianni Monet to form the MAC movement in 1948.
