The advertising Baroness who is for turning

Article Abstract:

Christine Walker was an advertising chief at Zenith, a major United Kingdom media-buying agency, who left to have a baby. She aims to set up her own agency and enter a 50:50 JV with M and C Saatchi. Her former employers are taking legal action against her because they wish to prevent her from contacting her former staff of clients. She is already wealthy and does not need to work for money, but has always placed great emphasis on her career and is proud of her ability to make contacts.

Turn on, tune in, switch over

Article Abstract:

Exclusive television contracts are not necessarily beneficial, certainly for comedians and actors, according to PBJ Management Chmn Peter Bennett-Jones, who acts as agent for comedian Harry Enfield. He emphasizes that Enfield will work for the BBC again, even though he has recently moved to Sky. Indeed, he feels that Enfield should work for both the BBC and Sky. He rejects the view that top performers are moving television channels because they have become obsessed with money.

Old rockers playing the money-men's tunes

Article Abstract:

It has become increasingly common in the UK for well-established rock stars to develop a range of business interests. David Bowie, for example, has recently launched his own art publishing company and plans to write an art book. Sir Cliff Richard has derived considerable benefit from investing in the musical 'Heathcliffe,' while Peter Gabriel owns the Real World recording label and studios. Business success can often help a rock star's performing career too.
