The boys who would be president

Article Abstract:

The 1992 presidential candidates Clinton, Bush and Perot come from the south-east of America, although George Bush grew up in New England and settled in Houston, Texas where he found the politics more sympathetic. Ross Perot's hometown, Texarcana, is half in Texas and half in Arkansas. The town is ordinary with a disintegrating community. Perot lives in north Dallas but has his election headquarters in Texarcana. Bill Clinton grew up in the spa town, Hot Springs, a beautiful mountainous area attracting tourists.

The experts said it would never fly

Article Abstract:

Seattle's Museum of Flight, situated close to the city's airport, focuses on the history of Boeing, although it details early developments in powered flight in Europe. Visitors are not permitted to actually enter old aircraft, and little attention is given to air crashes or to the fact that many thousands of people have died in bombing raids. The museum has a wide range of aircraft, along with a very interesting film collection. The films which look at the exploration of space are particularly fascinating.

One night in Bangkok ... is plenty

Article Abstract:

Thailand has many attractions for tourists, but its capital, Bangkok, is a bewildering, noisy and rather unpleasant place. It is worth spending only a short time there, moving on quickly to Thailand's more attractive places. Street life in Bangkok is hectic and unruly, and tourists can find it very difficult to cope.
