Moving away from fashion designing and into writing provides a very interesting opportunity to talk to fashion designers, according to Helen Storey. She was a fashion designer for some time, but has now turned to writing following personal difficulties and the collapse of her business. As a fashion designer, she was a creative idealist, producing designs which attracted customers including Madonna and Cher. She feels that she now designs from an emotional standpoint, rather than a practical one.
