The end of history? Well, certainly the end of humans

Article Abstract:

The key flaw in the argument that history is over is that history cannot come to an end as long as modern natural science has no end. There can be no end of science, as it is science that is the driving force behind the historical process. The world is now on the brink of a vast expansion in technological innovation in the life sciences and biotechnology. It seems that biotechnology will provide important new tools for social engineering. If this is the case, then human beings as such will be abolished.

The end of history is still nigh

Article Abstract:

The industrialised world is based on liberty and equality. The collapse of communism has created world chaos with threats to Europe of Islam and nationalism. Geopolitic uncertainties need not be democracy's enemies. The breakup of the Soviet Union was necessary for any of the states to democratise. It is difficult to create democratic institutions where there is economic collapse, but older democracies can advise new ones.

We remain at the end of history

Article Abstract:

The terrorist attacks in the US do not overturn the view that history has come to an end. It can be argued that we are still at the end of history because there is no alternative to the liberal-democratic West's domination of world politics.
