The hunt for corporate superman

Article Abstract:

There are currently a considerable number of leading UK companies searching for a suitable chief executive. Some observers believe that this is only to be expected, given that the job of a chief executive is becoming increasingly demanding. Business schools claim that they are working hard to ensure that the chief executives of the future are equipped with the many different skills they now require, but suitably qualified and experienced chief executives remain in very short supply. It is now becoming increasingly recognized that turning a company around is a process that must involve an entire board, rather than just an individual.
