The joys of being a creative - and the woes

Article Abstract:

Working in advertising can bring substantial rewards. The working conditions can be very good, with some employers providing a wide range of free staff facilities, and successful copywriters at top agencies can earn very large salaries. The most common way to gain employment as a creative in advertising is through a placement scheme, in which work experience is offered by advertising agencies in return for expenses. Students of advertising now realize that they will be required to work extremely hard if they are to forge a successful career.

Article Abstract:

Account-handlers have traditionally held the main responsibility for liasing between an advertising agency's creative department and its clients. However, they are now becoming more involved in the whole creative process at some of the more progressive advertising agencies. They are being encouraged to develop more collaborative ways of working with creative departments, and must therefore show a higher degree of flexibility. They may also have the opportunity to be more creative and impulsive.
