The parliament of all mothers

Article Abstract:

The UK's MPs have traditionally had to work very long and irregular hours, leaving them with very little time to spend with their families. There has been a slight improvement in this situation since the Jopling reforms of Parliamentary working hours were implemented during the last Parliament. House of Commons leader Anne Taylor is now seeking to make further improvements. Her main suggestions for change are allowing constituency weeks to coincide with school half-terms in Feb and Oct, finishing the main Parliamentary business on Thursday by 7pm and providing the option for committees to sit in the Sep weeks when the chamber is not sitting.

How to quell that welling road rage

Article Abstract:

Police and insurance companies believe that 'road rage,' an incident in which two drivers become aggressive towards each other, is increasing. This could be due to the growing problem of road congestion, which makes drivers more frustrated and therefore more aggressive. It could also be because society as a whole is becoming more violent.
