The pregnant silence

Article Abstract:

Fathers-to-be can experience many distressing feelings, but they often feel unable to talk about what they are feeling. Men often have very mixed feelings when their partner becomes pregnant, especially as the conventional image of fatherhood is not particularly positive. Pregnancy can also raise issues that remain unresolved from the father-to-be's childhood, such as rejection by his parents. Further emotional problems can arise if the woman has become pregnant without proper discussion with her partner.
