The tale of two ghost towns

Article Abstract:

Debonair will from Nov 16, 1998, be running two flights a day, each way, on the route between Luton, England, and Cergy-Pontoise, 20 miles from Paris, France. The town of Cergy-Pontoise itself is not particularly attractive, but its main tourist attraction, the cathedral of St Maclou, is worth visiting. In a similar development, Ryanair is from Nov 19, 1998, to run a service between Glasgow, Scotland, and Beauvais, France, some 50 miles north of Paris. The main attraction in Beauvais is also the cathedral, which has the tallest Gothic vault in the world.

40 hours on the Seine

Article Abstract:

There are many attractions along the banks of the river Seine, which runs through the centre of Paris, France. It is worth taking a trip on a Bateau Mouche tour boat, from where attractions including the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadero and the Maison de la Radio can be viewed. Cultural attractions include the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. The Conciergerie, the city's first royal palace, is particularly interesting. Other places to visit in Paris include Ile St-Louis and the church of St-Julien-le-Pauvre.

48 hours in Marseilles

Article Abstract:

The city of Marseilles, France, is an interesting mixture of French and North African elements. The core of the city is the Vieux Port, located in Old Marseilles. An interesting insight can be gained into modern-day Marseilles by exploring the narrow streets north of the wide Cours Belsunce. There are many museums, including the Museum of Mediterranean Archaeology and the Museum of African, Oceanic and American-Indian Arts, both located at the Centre de la Vieille-Charite.
