The truth about soap operas

Article Abstract:

Soap operas are attractive to many Britons because they are familiar, entertaining and undemanding. People enjoy watching soap operas when they are feeling tired and are unwilling to spend their time on useful tasks. Some observers feel that soap operas are very socially important, but this view also implies that soap operas have played a role in the fragmentation of UK society.

Issues concerning the relating of past sexual histories in rape cases are discussed. It is argued that consideration should be given to logging failed rape accusations against men.
