There are no free lunches

Article Abstract:

It is common in the UK for financial products such as endowment mortgages to be marketed in an extremely complex and misleading way. Consumers are unaware that what they are really getting is merely basic financial products that they could obtain much more cheaply as separate units. Providers compete strongly to sell products on the basis of incentives that appear tempting but often prove to have little real value. Financial services companies have become very talented at making very basic products appear extremely attractive.

Net prophets await profits

However, it is uncertain how quickly the Internet will be accepted by mainstream investors and financial services concerns. So far, very few people have made money from involvement in the Internet.
