Trust me, I'm a poet

Article Abstract:

It is still widely believed in the UK that there are significant differences between lawyers and artists. Most law firms would not contemplate any initiatives to encourage artistic skills such as poetry writing among their staff. However, some observers believe that there are in fact clear connections between law and poetry, as both skills require the very precise use of language. Both lawyers and poets address matters of death, love, human dispute and politics, but poets emphasize individuality, while lawyers remind people of their duties as public citizens.

It's firm, but is it fair?

Article Abstract:

Leading immigration lawyers in the UK have expressed negative views about the government's new Immigration and Asylum Bill. Under this legislation, asylum-seekers will receive shop tokens, rather than cash benefits, and will be dispersed among reception zones across the country, rather than concentrated in London, England, and the South-east. Lawyers believe that this approach will bring additional costs for taxpayers, as well as creating severe difficulties for genuine asylum-seekers.
