UK: VENTURE CAPITALISTS FUNDS NEW ECONOMY

Article Abstract:

The venture capital industry continues to invest in Internet ventures despite recent turmoil in new economy stocks. Deloitte & Touche reported that 60% of venture capitalists would be increasing the size of their new economy investments over the next six months. Telecom technology companies will attract attention despite exposing investors to business-to-consumer enterprises that have fared badly. The sector has been fuelled by the demand for third generation mobile licence applications. Durlacher, the stockbroker turned Internet investor, surveyed businesses and found that half were investing in business-to-business applications.
