Way clear for Amex, Nasdaq to link up

Article Abstract:

Members of the third largest stock exchange Amex voted by 622 to 206 to merge with second biggest stock exchange Nasdaq. Together they will have a joint US 47% equity market share. With the Philadelphia Stock Exchange also included in the deal, this percentage rises to 50%. In a separate arrangement, the Spanish and French derivatives exchanges Monep, Meff and Matif are to co-operate and set up a partnership called Euro Globex. However, Liffe, the UK exchange, has stated it does not intend to link up with any other exchange.

Go fuels low-cost air travel war with expansion plan

Article Abstract:

The low-cost airline Go, which was launched by British Airways early in 1998, has announced that it is planning an expansion. The company plans include increasing the workforce by some 50% as well as expanding the flight routes so as to become more competitive with rivals EasyJet, Debonair and Ryanair. There is some speculation that Go may begin making more flights to Italy, as well as introducing new routes to Germany and Scandinavia.
