We must send in troops to stop the killing in Kosovo

Article Abstract:

It has become extremely difficult for the international community to bring about a political settlement in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, where democratic initiatives have proved unsuccessful. Both the Kosovo Liberation Army and Solobodan Milosevic continue to hold uncompromising positions and are unwilling to renounce violence. However, the international community must seek to talk to and support the democrats, however marginalized they currently appear. Milosevic must be isolated and indicted by the war crimes tribunal.

Sweet tea, scorpions and the savage horrors of war

Article Abstract:

It is very hard to know whether Nato should go ahead with its threat of military action against Serbia because of the latter's treatment of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. War can never be regarded as a good thing, but there is also justification for military action designed to put an end to blatant human rights abuses. Those contemplating military action should be aware that the true horrors of war will be brought to ordinary people through television.

Western leaders stand aside as evil rises in the heart of Europe

Article Abstract:

The international community has condemned Serb attacks on ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, but has taken no practical steps to stop these attacks. Similarly, events in Kosovo have received relatively little media coverage. An atmosphere of political and moral exhaustion seems to have descended upon the international community, and there is a reluctance to intervene in Kosovo in case this sparks off a wider confrontation in the Balkans.
