We need a cull in Europe

Article Abstract:

It is vital that the new European Commission Pres is given real powers and is able to win the confidence of the European Parliament. The European Commission should not try to undertake too much, but should be aware that it has certain essential tasks that only it can undertake, including protecting the interests of smaller European Union states. It is probably best for the European Parliament to decide who among the commissioners who have resigned should continue to be eligible to act as a commissioner.

Lord Harris of Greenwich

Journalist and politician John Harris was born in Harrow, England, in 1930. He was a provincial journalist before becoming Assistant Editor of the Scottish Labour weekly Forward in 1953.
