Sadly, there is no magic wand for us to fix it

Article Abstract:

Very mixed views are being expressed about the future of the world economy, as highlighted at the 1999 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Americans remain reasonably optimistic about their country's economic future, but they are aware that a growing differential with Japan is emerging. Continental European politicians have been focusing on the introduction of the single European currency, and have therefore failed to notice that consumers remain cautious. It is recognized that there is no easy way to address the world's economic problems.
