Where are the real people?

Article Abstract:

Cambridge, England, seems to be a thriving town. It has 1,100 hi-tech companies, which have created a significant number of jobs, and its university has a very positive reputation. However, the very prosperity of the town is causing problems for local people. House prices have risen so high that local people can no longer afford to move house, and there is considerable controversy about where new houses should be built, if at all. It now seems that the town is becoming polarized between the relatively wealthy and the very poor, who live in very unattractive accommodation.

Power-lunching is passe, darling. Let's do dinner

Article Abstract:

Early evening dining has become increasingly popular in fashionable business circles in the US. Many people feel that they can no longer justify taking a break from work at lunchtime, so now prefer to visit a restaurant at around 5pm or 6pm. Meals taken in the early evening tend to be quite heavy, and the atmosphere is very male-dominated. However, eating at this time is healthier than eating late in the evening, and means that there is still the opportunity to undertake leisure pursuits in the evening.

M'Lord of the dance

Article Abstract:

Irish dancer Michael Flatley is being sued for 10 million pounds sterling by former manager John Reid for alleged breach of contract. Flatley has issued a counter-suit against Reid, whom he accuses of deceit, among other things. He is also taking action against his former law firm, and legal issues are therefore taking up a great deal of his time. There has been a strong element of show business in the court proceedings, with even the lawyers appearing to be part of a performance.
